My daughter's birthday was pretty much the whole of the previous blog entry. It was a Barbie purse and shoe cake that was based on actual items. The real purse looked like this...
The other project I had was a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' style cake the day after Christmas!! It's cool though because it was for my best friend's nephew. It was a small 6" yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and fondant covering. The "skyline" was airbrushed on and the details are black piping and fondant pieces. I made the figures out of a fondant/gumpaste mix just so they'd be a little bit more durable during transport.
Oh... before I go, the local cake club I'm in, the Cake-A-Tiers, is having a meeting January 28 from 6p to 8p. I'll be hosting this meeting teaching everyone cake airbrushing techniques. If you're interested please join us, everyone is welcome whether you have cake decorating experience or not. I'll post more information on the location and what to bring soon.
Ok, now I'm gone for real!
